PLEASE READ!!! The process to enter the boat lottery can sometime be a challenge so please read the steps below designed to help.
Harvard Park and Recreation offers boat storage at Bare Hill Pond for Harvard residents/taxpayers only. There are storage racks that can accommodate canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards, boat moorings in the cove and near the picnic area and a small number of boat slips. Since the demand for these spots is high, we conduct a lottery each year to assign slots. The lottery is free to enter.
Steps to Enter:
1. Log in to MyRec
2. Click on Register --> Boat Storage/ Lottery
3. Check the box next to the name you want to register and then click Add To Cart.
4. When the white pop-up box appears, select "Check Out"
5. A new screen appears with a disclaimer that says "Please Read Carefully". Read that and then click the checkbox acknowledging that you read it. Click CONTINUE.
6. The system will ask what type of storage you are looking for - canoe rack, mooring, slip, etc. Select that and then click CHECK OUT ONLINE.
You will not be charged, but you must complete the entire process in order to be entered.
Winners will be drawn at random in April. If you win a spot, you will return to this site to pay your fee. Fees for 2026 winners are:
Half Canoe/Kayak Rack Spot: $70
Full Canoe/Kayak Rack Spot: $140
Cove Moorings: $50
Outer Moorings: $250
Slips: $750
Stickers will be issued to all lottery winners if they pay by May 1st. On May 2nd, registration re-opens to the general public and any remaining storage positions may be purchased.
All boats stored at the beach must have a current year sticker displayed or they will be removed. They may also be removed if left at the beach after Nov 15th. Any boats impounded by the Harbormaster will cost $50/yr to get released. We also offer boat rentals, if you would rather rent or if you don't win the lottery.
